Luke demonstrates exceptional accomplishment in legal research and drafting, file management, testifying expert selection and support, the orchestration of discovery, and other litigation skills. Luke is skilled with primary draftsmanship of pleadings and motions, and also has trial experience. Luke has represented clients in State Court, Federal Court, and in front of the ITC. Luke is also authorized to practice before the USPTO. With respect to post-grant proceedings, he has effectively used inter partes reviews to challenge the validity of patents as well as successfully defend clients whose patents have been challenged.
While Luke’s educational background is in biology and chemistry, he has also drafted and successfully prosecuted patents in a wide variety of other technologies. These include 3D printing, refrigeration, food compositions, illumination, touch recognition, packaging and shipping machinery, and oil rig mechanics, among others.
Luke also happens to be funny, smart and charming, which, if you’ve spent much time around patent attorneys [from other law firms], you will understand is a rare feat. In his spare time he likes to travel, downhill ski, run, tackle home improvement projects, and eat and drink with friends.
