Biography
Andrew began his career at the firm in May, 2017 as a law clerk and after being sworn to the bar in September, 2018, now serves clients as an attorney.
Andrew has a long history of working in and with technology companies. Andrew founded and ran one of the world’s first website hosting companies for more than two decades so he brings to client’s hands-on expertise from a variety of technology businesses. He has been involved in companies that worked on computer networking, architecture, client server- software, e-commerce systems, VOIP and other Internet and telecommunications technologies.
This unique foundational background allows Andrew to understand effectively advise clients with respect to intellectual property issues and business concerns.
Andrew leads the firm’s trademark practice, representing clients ranging from startups to established global brands. His trademark experience includes domestic and international prosecution, handling matters before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB), negotiating coexistence and consent agreements, and managing complex trademark portfolios consisting of hundreds of marks worldwide. He works closely with clients to align trademark strategy with broader business objectives, ensuring brands are protected, scalable, and enforceable.
Andrew also has significant experience in AI associated with patent applications.
In his freetime, Andrew likes playing Ultimate Frisbee. But his greatest pleasure is enjoying the successes of his two sons.
Andrew is an Adjunct Professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law and coaches a team in the annual International Patent Drafting Competition.
